$111.00
A vintage 1950s turquoise ceramic ashtray and cigarette holder with gold leaf trim. This ashtray was owned by a man who ran a nightclub and restaurant in Burbank, California, in the 1940s and 1950s. The club was called "Dimples," which was a nod to the actress Shirley Temple.
Geometric in shape, one end has two cigarette rests. The other end is a shallow bay which held loose cigarettes. There is a pattern on the interior in relief. There is an embossed signature on the underside, but it is exceedingly difficult to read.
The ashtray is 12 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches tall. It weighs 1 1/2 lbs. In excellent condition, with one small nick on the end where the two cigarette rests are located (see photos).

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third-party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.
INFORMATION I COLLECT
To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, mailing address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact me directly.
WHY I NEED YOUR INFORMATION AND HOW I USE IT
I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
• as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfill your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
• when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
• if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
• as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as
1) Providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and
2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
• Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
• Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
• Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
• Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
HOW LONG I STORE YOUR INFORMATION
I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 7 years.
TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL INFORMATION OUTSIDE THE EU
I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
YOUR RIGHTS
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
• Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
• Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
• Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
• Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
HOW TO CONTACT ME
For purposes of EU data protection law, I, James Mettler, am the data controller of your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me at info@midcityvintage.com.
Please note that vintage and antique products often show signs of wear from age and previous use. This includes the occasional nick or fleabites in the surface of a glass item. This is considered normal. If an item is listed as being in pristine or mint condition, then it will be free from all wear, damage, or defects. All items in my shop are sold as is, and all sales are final. I do not accept cancellations or exchanges. Please review photos and descriptions, and contact me with any questions you have BEFORE making a purchase. I will accept returns if the product is not as described (e.g., you ordered a blue vase and you received a red one).
I insure every package against damage, theft, or loss. If your order arrives damaged, or if it’s lost or stolen, please contact me immediately. Please refer to the following instructions. Failure to follow the instructions below will void the insurance claim:
1. Take 8-10 clear photos of the damaged item from several angles. Include the shipping box from different angles. Please send me copies of the photos. I cannot file an insurance claim without them.
2. Keep all box and filler materials. The post office might need them for the claim investigation.
3. If claim is approved, I'll process the refund. A claim typically takes 2-3 weeks to process.
Contact me if you would like to make an offer on any item in my shop.
I use the US Customs Department policy regarding the age of antiques as my guide.
- I use "antique" to describe objects at least 100 years old or older.
- I use "vintage" to describe objects between 20 to 99 years of age.
- I use "retro" to describe contemporary objects made to mimic a past trend or fashion.
Shipping costs have increased to the point where I can no longer offer my customers free shipping without either going out of business, or raising my prices to absorb the increased label costs. Many shops raise their prices and offer "free shipping," but I believe that to be deceptive. I choose to keep my prices the same and list shipping costs as a separate line item on the invoice.
Shipping labels have a tracking number and an estimated delivery date. The estimated delivery date is just that: an estimated delivery date. Your package could arrive earlier or later than the estimated delivery date. When I hand a package off to the USPS, the process of delivering a package to your address is no longer in my hands. It is the responsibility of the postal service to make sure your package arrives on time. I am not responsible for late deliveries. If you need a package delivered by a specific date, you have the option of indicating such on the order when you purchase a product. You also have the option of selecting a more expensive shipping label to ensure your product arrives when and where you want it.
